Sphere mold with dome template
This listing is for one sphere mold and one dome template that are designed to go together. This clever mold will produce a beautiful shape that includes a dot in the centre top to assist with your art symmetry. The dome template can then be placed to match this position and draw symmetry marks to extend down the sphere. Casting your own spheres is fun and economical make many with reusable molds.

Dimensions of sphere when taken out of mold. Width at widest point 8.5cm / 3.3. Height 7.3cm / 2.8. Please understand the sphere mold needs to be suspended off any surface while casting in order to come out round.

The sphere mold will be sent with packing that may be used but ideally you want to find something rigid around your house that is the right size to hold it - eg plant pot, a piece of pvc pipe or extra large cup. Casting your own is easy.

(sorry i don't sell it) many casting plasters work well and i like using ultracal 30 (highest strength gypsum - it is harder, heavier and better for painting than plaster of paris) - available online in most parts of the world. Sorry i don't sell it. If you are in australia or nz - an alternative is casting plaster from bunnings. Please see the pinned post on my fb page for alternatives in different parts of the world. Mix the casting powder with water following the directions provided with the mixture.

Wait approximately 6 hours or overnight. This is the fun bit - turn out of the mold. It comes out beautifully smooth. Allow to dry for two or three days depending on climate. So much joy painting it.
