Dinglehopper is a beautiful color shifting shade of turquoise blue/green watercolor paint, handmade from mica pigments containing ultra-fine glitter particles that leave a glistening metallic finish on white & black paper. What's unique and beautiful about watercolors is that you can get so many different tones and variations from one shade of paint just by experimenting with the amount of water you add but what if you were able to take that a step further in regular watercolor painting, we would combine blue and green to create a lovely shade of turquoise. But did you ever stop and think that by combining the blue and green, you are actually sacrificing those colors my handmade color shift paints are mesmerizing because they display a full spectrum of hues all at once, ranging from one color to the next. So what does that mean well, if you're a beginner, it's certainly great news because your paint is now doing the work of creating color interest for you, which will put you a step ahead in your journey of learning to create unique & admirable art.
It's like being able to understand a language before learning to speak it. If you're more intermediate or advanced, then i'm sure you can appreciate what it means to see the subtle variations in tone using just one pan of paint. You can also think of it almost like painting with acrylics, where you're able to control how little you blend two colors so that the result does not appear flat or lifeless. This is similar to what color shift watercolors can do, offering so much variation and complexity just by changing how much water you use - and it's amazing. In other words, dinglehopper is here to make your paintings pop.
You don't have to take my word for it. 5 out of 5 stars.
"This color is so gorgeous on paper love it". I love the tone of this color. I know i will have many uses for this will probably need more before too long. Gorgeous color i love these. One half-pan filled with my handmade watercolor paint in the shade "dinglehopper".
Half pans are plastic, standard-sized, and conveniently interchangeable in magnetic watercolor palettes. Maybe you're new to watercolor, or you've never even picked up a paintbrush. Guess what that was me- less than two years ago if you're someone who loves color, and you get that tingly rush of inspiration when you scroll through the different hues in my shop - please do not self-doubt.
Please, do not say things like, i'm not an artist. I'll never be any good. Trust me when i tell you, if you can feel inspiration, you can create art. Here's what i recommend if you're just starting out. Choose a few, or even just one color that really speaks to you, and explore. Don't concentrate on what the finished piece will look like.
Don't compare your work to that of people with more experience. Just see where the paint takes you. Create abstract shapes and patterns, experiment with mark-making, spend some time practicing brush stroke drills, follow online tutorials. Watching the pigments and water swirl together and mix and mingle and puddle up on the page can be so meditative.Watercolor painting and art therapy helped me get through one of the most difficult times in my life. Each of my paints are specially formulated with varying levels of a few simple ingredients, including. Gum arabic (food-grade, gluten free), essential oils (tea tree & clove), honey, and mica powder pigments. I mull each batch of paint by hand with a glass mortar and pestle and test it several times on scrap paper for quality assurance. I fill the pans, and once the paint has dried and some of the water evaporates, the paint shrinks to fill about 1/2 of the volume of the pan. I make sure to only send out paint formulas that i would use in my own artwork. Add a few drops of water to the pan and allow it to soak (roughly 5-10 seconds) to fully activate the paint. I take great care to formulate each individual paint shade, ensuring they will work exactly how you need them to - use less water for beautifully concentrated, opaque layers of liquid metal, or dilute heavily for watery washes of glittery goodness. Layer over dry paint to add detail or accent elements of your composition, or load up your brush and make a statement with a glistening focal point.
Fairytale watercolors contain micro-particles of glitter which can easily contaminate your other art supplies i recommend rinsing your brush in at least two jars of water: one jar strictly for glitter watercolors to initially rinse your brush, and a second jar of clean water for a final rinse and bringing clean water to your palette/painting. While this method will mostly get rid of glitter particles, stray flecks may remain in the bristles of your brush, on your palette, or inside your rinsing jar(s), which can then transfer to your other paints or materials. If you do not want to contaminate your expensive art materials, i suggest dedicating the following materials to use exclusively with fairytale watercolors' glitter watercolor paints.1-2 jar(s) clean water. Fairytale watercolor paints are water-soluble & will wash off most surfaces/clothing with soap and/or water.
